Crewe Road Nursery aims to provide a welcoming and caring atmosphere to give children the best start in life.

• We are an independent nursery registered with the Care Inspectorate.
• Located in the North of Edinburgh, just off Crewe Road South.
• Places for 55 children aged from 0 to 5 years old.
• In partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver pre-school education.
• Located in a purpose-built property which relocated in 2013.

We believe the best way for children to learn is through child-centred practice. Following a child-centred approach allows for meaningful and purposeful learning experiences. Children are supported to select their own learning experiences, giving them the opportunity to explore and investigate as well as make sense of the world around them. We believe that learning occurs best through play and where children experience their world first-hand. Children are supported in making autonomous choices, they are encouraged to take the lead in their own learning journey and are challenged and supported in all aspects of their development.

The nursery offers:

• Professional and welcoming staff who demonstrate an obvious passion for their roles.
• A ratio of 1 adult to 3 children aged 0-2, 1 adult to 5 children aged 2-3 and 1 adult to 8 children aged 3-5.
• Use of the secure social media platform GroupMe to send daily photos, communicate and post information.
• Access to spacious rooms such as a dance hall and large gym hall in the youth centre which is adjacent to the nursery.
• Forest Kindergarten experiences in surrounding garden areas and the local woodland area.
• Support to children in being actively involved looking after their community through caring for the environment.
