
We have a nursery team of passionate and dedicated childcare professionals who bring a wide range of skills and experience, aiding child development in a loving environment.
Lorraine has been the managing director of Crewe Road Nursery since January 1989, which originally began as a setting registered for 12 children and now caters for up to 55 children per day. Lorraine has always been passionate about children’s learning, and she continues to play an active role in the nursery with a very hands-on approach. Lorraine loves to captivate children through imaginative play, stories, and role play. She encourages staff to reflect on their practice and supports their input to continue making improvement to the whole nursery environment. When not at work, Lorraine enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and travelling to Spain.
Lorraine qualified from The University of Edinburgh with a BA in Childhood Practice in 2012.
Isabelle joined the team in 2000, which at the time, was only registered for children aged 3-5 years. She has always been passionate about working with younger children. Isabelle and Lorraine embarked on a journey of securing funding to open the nursery to babies in 2005. Isabelle maintains a very hands-on approach, and always aims to sustain a cosy, attractive and nurturing environment. Isabelle is passionate about continuous learning and encourages and supports staff to undertake further studies, as well as to keep up to date with all current guidelines, documents and legislation. Isabelle is originally from France, however Scotland has been her home for over 30 years. When Isabelle is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, sharing her delicious cooking talent and walking with her dog.
Isabelle qualified from The University of Edinburgh with a BA in Childhood Practice in 2012.
Lauren joined the team in 2007, working her way up to room supervisor until 2017, where she left to embark on a travelling journey around Southeast Asia. Upon her return, she spent 3 years caring for the elderly in a care home as well as keeping in touch with children, families, and staff of the nursery. Lauren missed this too much and returned in 2020 as Assistant Manager. Lauren loves inspiring young minds with songs and fun, play experiences and takes pleasure in guiding and helping the nursery team. When she is not working, she likes spending time finding new adventures to explore with her daughter and attending concerts.
Lauren qualified with a BA in Childhood Practice at The University of Edinburgh in 2023.
Zoe joined the team in 2014. She loves to spend time with the children, supporting their learning journeys and development. Zoe has a real passion when helping children explore natural resources such as loose parts, heuristic play and treasure baskets. When not working, Zoe enjoys socialising with friends and going on holiday.
Zoe qualified in 2022 with a BA Childhood Practice with the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Brooke joined the team in 2020 and is based in the baby and toddler room. Brooke loves engaging children in singing and dancing and captivates their imagination through group experiences. When not at work, Brooke enjoys attending concerts, going for walks and spending time with her loved ones.
Brooke has completed her qualification, PDA in Childhood Practice.
Shannon joined the team in 2014 and is based in the baby and toddler room. Shannon loves to spend time with the children in the room and provides a variety of stimulating experiences where the children can further develop and gain new skills. When not at work, Shannon enjoys socialising and spending time with her beautiful family.
Shannon has an SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People).
Suzanne joined the team in 2005. Suzanne is based in the baby and toddler room part time, however, enjoys helping out pre-school room whenever she can. Suzanne has great attention to detail and enjoys helping children and families with anything they need. When not at work, Suzanne loves to spend time with her family and her son.
Suzanne has an SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People)
Kerryanne joined the team in 2015 and is based in the pre-school room. Kerryanne spends a lot of small group time with children, really getting to know their likes, dislikes and preferences and using these to plan meaningful experiences to enhance learning. Outside of work, she likes spending time with her friends and family, going to the cinema and attending concerts.
Kerryanne has an SVQ 3 in Childcare Learning and Development.
Amy joined the team in 2021. She is based in the pre-school room and enjoys spending time with the children, engaging in their play and challenging their learning experiences. Amy is part of our Eco Schools committee, which helps encourage children to care for the environment. When not working, Amy enjoys watching Disney movies and walking her dogs with her family.
Amy has completed her SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) and is currently undertaking a PDA in Childhood Practice at college.
Erin joined the team in 2022 and is based in the baby and toddler room. Erin enjoys engaging the children in sensory experiences, setting up provocations for them to explore and providing fun for all. When not at work, Erin enjoys spending time going on holidays and socialising with friends.
Erin has completed SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People).
Oban joined the team in 2023. She is based in the pre-school room and enjoys engaging the children in expressive art experiences, supporting their creativity and imaginative skills. When not working, Oban enjoys going to concerts and the cinema with friends.
Oban has completed her SVQ 3 Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People).
Cami joined the nursery team in 2024. He is based in the baby and toddler room and loves helping children explore their fun and creative side through interactive games, messy exploration and . When not working, Cami enjoys visiting the cinema and socialising with friends.
Cami has completed his SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People).
Jena joined the team in 2023. She has previous experience working in social care with the elderly and adults with complex care needs and wanted a career change to work with children. Jena is passionate about providing safe and nurturing interactions to all children and helps ensure they are settled with her kind nature. When not at work, Jena enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, nephews and family.
Jena has completed her SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People)
Hannah joined the team in March 2026. Hannah is originally from New Zealand and loves sharing her culture and knowledge with children, families and colleagues. She has previous experience of nannying, providing lots one to one care as well as carrying out roles such as being a children’s entertainer, children’s dance teacher and community educator. When not working, Hannah loves to explore different areas of Scotland and rehearsing for upcoming Theatre shows.
Leah joined the nursery in June 2026. She has previous experience working alongside others in varying roles such as being a flight attendant and working in Greggs. She has helped out with younger family members and will be undertaking her apprenticeship whilst based in the baby and toddler room. Leah shows kindness, empathy and care in her interactions with the children. When Leah is not working, she enjoys spending time with her partner and family.
Sophie joined the nursery in June 2026. She has previous experience working at Spartans participating in youth work, helping to assist children and young people who lived with additional support needs. Sophie found this so rewarding and still keeps regular contact with the young people and mentors. Sophie will be undertaking her apprenticeship whilst based in the pre-school room. When not working, Sophie enjoys spending time with loved ones and going for walks.
Darrell started the nursery in May 2026. Darrell is Jena’s sister and has joined the baby and toddler room part time. Darrell has previous experience working in social care and these skills shine through in her interactions with children and families. When not working, Darrell enjoys spending time with her son, family and attending concerts and music festivals.
Sarah joined the nursery in March 2026 and is based in the pre-school room and enjoys helping the baby and toddler room when needed. Sarah has previous experience coaching young children through sports clubs and holds a HND in sport development. Sarah enjoys watching her husband play rugby and spending time with her loved ones and doggy and is currently undertaking her SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People).
Lucy recently joined the nursery in July 2026 after not long leaving school. She is based in the baby and toddler room and will be undertaking her apprenticeship in due course. Lucy has shown lovely interactions with the children and when not working, enjoys spending time with her loved ones.
Jimmy joined the nursery in August 2025 and is based in the pre-school room. He has previous experience working with children and young people and enjoys high energy play with the children.
When not working, Jimmy enjoys gaming and spending time with his loved ones.
Jimmy has completed hiss SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People).
