Baby and Toddler Room

The baby and toddler room comprises of a spacious and bright open plan room with a variety of fundamental spaces to explore. Areas include a large, cosy den for children to develop their playful, schematic investigations, a house corner to enhance role-play, a construction area where early numeracy is evident, a large loose parts and heuristic area to encourage curiosity and a sand and water tray. As well as water, there are a number of malleable materials explored daily to enhance scientific investigation. The room has a soft, comfortable story corner where stories, singing and musical instruments are enjoyed. There is a climbing frame and tunnel where children can develop their gross motor skills. We have a separate sleep room, where children are supported by their care givers to sleep in cosy pods or on mats with children’s individual bedding. There is a separated bathroom and hygienic nappy changing area.

Pre-School Room

The Pre-School room offers a welcoming and caring large playroom. Children can engage in play-based experiences where they can lead their own learning. Our wide range of resources are labelled to allow children to choose and access them independently. Literacy, numeracy and health and well-being are focus areas in the room, however all areas of the Curriculum for Excellence are embedded throughout the whole nursery. Child sized toilets and sinks are directly accessed via the playroom. The door to access the side garden is always open to allow children to choose indoor or outdoor play. We have a separate room where children can engage in more focused learning experiences and enjoy quiet time.
